Mortal RulesLaws of the Realm

Levels

Level Responsibilites

Avatars will be held more strictly to these rules as they should be more experienced and knowledgeable of them and also have common sense enough to know what is right or wrong. Immortals are held to an even higher level of responsibility of following these rules.

Areaspells

Rules for Use of Area Spells

Casting area effect spells in widely public areas such as Mozartia is illegal, even when shouting.

All area effect spells must be shouted in order to safely inform players that you are casting dangerous spells that may harm or kill them. Any unshouted spells that cause death or injury in any manner can be dealt with by the incurrance of a 'warrant' flag at an immortals choosing.

Language

Language Guidelines for Channels

Since Tera is a family oriented Mud and younger players may be on-line at any given time, we do not allow any obscene or lewd language on any of the public communication channels. The only exception to this is the Avatar channel 'ponder' which is a tad more lax, but still not wholly exempt from this rule.

We also do not tolerate any form of harassment on any of the private channels.

Scripting

Use of Scripts and Bots

Creating any form of script that automates the actions of your character is highly illegal. This does not include the alias system that is currently installed here. This is not to say that triggers are illegal, but a set of triggers that allows you to run around while afk certainly is.

Immortality

Requirements for Immortality

  1. Good behavior as a mortal.
  2. Must have an idea of what you can contribute to Tera.
  3. Knowledge of Tera.
  4. Must be an Avatar. If you have more than one Avatar, you can choose one, but you must have full equipment and gold on the character.
  5. Must create a small area with a minimum size of 30-50 rooms. Time limit - three (3) months to complete it.

Multiplaying

The Guidelines for Multiple Characters

Having more than one character per person is acceptable on TeraMud, but under no circumstances are they to interact in any manner. This includes no equipment, gold, scribed or brewed spell transfers. Also one character may not paralyze for another. Using any of your mortals to give an advantage to another of your mortals is highly ILLEGAL, and may be dealt with by any form of punishment an immortal chooses. This can range from warnings to BalZur. At no time should you ever have two characters online at the same time, linkdead or otherwise.

Bugabuse

Rules for Known Bugs

Abusing bugs for personal gain is highly illegal, all bugs should be reported insing the "inform" command, and be reported to an immortal of administrative level. Bug abuse is punishable by BalZur and site ban.

Pkill

Player Killing Rules

Player killing is illegal. The only forms of legal PKilling may only be committed in special dueling areas, by clan members at war with another clan, or for removing a players T, W, or K flag. In cartain cases of PKilling, the gods themselves may take offense, and enter the mortal realms to deal with the problem.

PSteal

Player Stealing Rules

  1. Player to player Stealing (PStealing) is ILLEGAL on characters of equal to or less than level 20.
  2. PStealing is limited to the same level restrictions of grouping you may not steal from any character who is less than than 1/2 your level rounded up.
  3. Taking eq from players with their "consent" on is considered stealing and punishable as other forms of stealing.
  4. Anyone can kill a player with a THIEF flag.

A flagged PStealer may choose, if an eligible level god is currently on-line, to petition for absolution. In order to absolve a T flag a mortal must surrender the original stolen item, plus another item of the absolving immortal's choosing.
