Rituals of Moonlight
Generalities
Common mortals generally invoker her name in protection or in time of death. Her simplest ritual involves the burning of a flower and the burying of the ashes, all the while intoning a prayer to the Goddess.
The symbol of Moonlight is a silver crescent. Her animal is black cat.
Altars and Temples dedicated to Moonlight
- Altars
- Altars are usually round stone (moonstones are the most effective) with two bowls. Both bowls should be made of stone. One bowl holds dirt from a hollowed graveyard. The other bowl is the bowl where flowers are burnt. Rituals are held at the end of every month. The holiest rituals are held during full moons. The simplest and most common ritual dedicated to Moonlight is the burning of a flower (until it is nothing but ashes) and the remains are then mixed (or buried) in the bowl with the dirt. Throughout the ritual, a continual chant is performed by the follower(s).
- Temples
- Temples dedicated to the Goddess Moonlight are made of dark marble and/or moonstone. Regardless of which temple of Moonlight is dedicated to (see Clerics of Moonlight), anyone asking for protection of the temple is granted. The only being able to rescind this is Moonlight herself. Any violators of her temple have been known to have been unable to cast any protective magics or have horrible and painful Deaths in the following year. An air of sanctuary will continually warmly blanket any holy temple of Moonlight.
